How You Can Help

Individuals alone cannot help the thousands of families facing the loss of their heat and energy supply, but collectively, the Fuel Fund can.

Please know that more than 86¢ of every dollar donated goes directly to helping families pay their energy bills. The Fuel Fund of Maryland has been certified under the Maryland Association of Nonprofits' Standards for Excellence since 1999.

Here are ways that you can help to keep families warm and comfortable:

• Donate online now using a check or credit card.
   
• Use the special envelope provided by BGE in their November and December bills.
   
• Mail your donation to:

• Donate throughout the year while you pay your BGE bill by opting for the Penny Round Up program. Just call 410-685-0123 and select option 2 to sign up. Each month you will round up your payment to the nearest dollar. The difference is your gift to the Fuel Fund.
   
• The Fuel Fund of Maryland has qualified for both the Combined Federal and the Maryland Charities Campaigns. This is a painless way for federal and state employees to make donations to organizations they wish to support. You may select the Fuel Fund to receive your contributions by using the five-digit identification number assigned to us. Our number for both campaigns is 99844.
   
• Purchase a one of a kind handmade pin or tie tack for $14 here and $7 of your $14 will go to The Fuel Fund.
   
• We accept gifts of stock and are happy to handle the entire transaction for your convenience. To give stock, contact us at 410-821-3022 extension 2 or by email at info@fuelfundmaryland.org
   
• Consider planned giving by remembering us in your will.
   
• Know that your donation is maximized through Fuel Fund payments, matching credits and client payments so that your $100 donation can completely resolve a $300 bill.
