Eligibility Requirements

You may be eligible to get help from the Fuel Fund if:

  1. You live in the state of Maryland

  2. You have a current, completed application with the Office of Home Energy Programs (OHEP)

  3. You meet Fuel Fund's income requirements

  4. Your services are off, or you have a turn-off notice for your gas or electric service or you are out of a bulk fuel such as heating oil.

  5. You have not received help from the Fuel Fund in the past 12 months.

  6. Currently we are only able to assist those customers within the BGE service territory.

  7. If you have gotten help from Fuel Fund in the past, you must graduate from the in-person Watt Watchers workshop before getting help again

Does your Income exceed these guidelines?

The Fuel Fund program is flexible. For special circumstances involving extreme hardship, you may be eligible even if your income is over the limit. Contact us for assistance.
