IMPORTANT NOTICE:  We are NOT accepting applications between June 14, 2024 - June 30, 2024.  If you submitted an application prior to June 14, 2024, please be patient.  Contact BGE @ 1-800-685-0123/option 4 to discuss options with your contracted utility provider.

Please read this ENTIRE page carefully on when you can apply and if you qualify.

The Fuel Fund of Maryland's (FFM) role in the utility assistance process is to determine the potential FFM financial grant for which the applicant may be eligible for (as described with the proceses and procedures on this page); not to determine BGE balance(s), OHEP* eligibility and/or OHEP* financial assistance.

While a financial grant from the Fuel Fund may be awarded to an applicant. please be aware that the applicant will be asked to pay a portion of the BGE bill as they are the "owner" of the utility bill.

*OHEP = a state agency/benefits program which administers the state's LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), known as the Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP).
