How does budget billing work?
Budget billing programs are designed to eliminate the seasonal swings in utility costs by spreading your total estimated annual energy usage into predictable monthly payments.
While many people assume entering a budget billing plan will lower their overall electricity or gas rates, it offers no financial discount or rate reduction. You pay for every kilowatt-hour of electricity or therm of gas you consume at the exact same standard rates as non-participating customers.
